It is with a range of emotions that I share with you the news that Rae Briggle is today announcing her retirement from full-time service, effective August 31, 2017.

Rae is one of our longest-tenured members of the staff. She has served USA Hockey so well and with such dedication for the past 26 years. She will be enormously missed by so many people, volunteers as well as her colleagues in the national office.

She has helped lead our organization through an amazing series of changes, from the management of paper team applications, the evolution to individual player registration forms, the processing of literally hundreds of thousands of paper checks, and the jump to the 21^st century and what is arguably the most sophisticated member registration mechanism in amateur sports. No one knows what has gone into this departmental evolution better than the people who have worked with Rae in Member Services. They have been the smooth-running engine managing the constant growth of our organization.

Rae and her husband, Bob, have contemplated this next step in their lives for a while. In fact, Rae and I have discussed the timing of this eventuality frequently over the course of the last few years. We are excited for them and what lies ahead (including the new home they are building).

I know that we all will miss Rae, but the good news is that she will continue to be a resource to the department after August 31, and will help guide the transition of the department to new leadership. I am pleased to tell you that as Rae steps back, Kim Folsom will become Director, Member Services.

Kim has spent her entire career with USA Hockey and has seen every bit of its growth and change, its challenges and successes, over nearly three decades. She has been indispensable to me the past several years. She brings so much wisdom and passion to the position. She is one of the most knowledgeable, intelligent people on the staff. She has seen the member registration process evolve and is aware of our advancement as we have moved forward with the USA Hockey Portal.

Please join me in congratulating Rae on what has been a wonderful career in which she has contributed so much to our organization, and to the lives of so many of us personally, and to Kim on the opportunity she now has and for which she is so well-suited as she leads the department into the future.
